  2. Chris-Craft Sportsman

    Seattle, Washington, Vereinigte Staaten

For 3 years, Chris Craft built a beauty of a small yacht, the 30ft Sportsman with a C. Raymond Hunt designed "Deep-V" hull.  (Production stopped after just 56 boats built when Bertram filed an injunction when this Chris Craft was beating their own Hunt designs.)  Hunt-designed hulls are highly valued for the "Deep V" concept that Ray originated and perfected -- a hull design that remains optimal for handling (especially in rough water) and speed. ( Of the 56 Sportsmen this one is unique as the only known "hard top", all the others were open boats with canvas or Tournaments with upper helm.  The cabin, with the vinyl "landau-look" roof, provides a warm and comfortable space for helm, booth-style dinette table (converts to a bed) and kitchenette.  Lots of teak paneling and details, two hatches open to the sky and ceiling liner is in very good shape.  There's a double berth (with hatch) in the bow and a private head and storage locker. The extra large cockpit is roomy for fishing, swim parties, cocktails -- or stowing kayaks!  Natural teak swim platform with ladder off the transom. Canvas, with windows and zippered doors, encloses the cabin plus winter canvas for the windshield and covering the entire cockpit and railing. The boat is powered with the original dual Marine Power 350s.  (250hp, each).  This pair of engines provides power, maneuverability and safety.  Engines are running great.  A problematic carburetor was rebuilt this year.  The port engine was completely rebuilt in 2011.  (A prior owner had put on an converted truck carb, not a good idea; now refitted with the stock carb.)  Helm is equipped with a Garmin navigation system and radio.  Two trim tabs at stern.  Specs include: Length: 30' 1-3/4" Beam: 11' 11" Draft: 2' 8" Fuel: gasoline, 184 gals Water: 45 gals Sleeps: 2 to 4 (2 in bow berth, 2 on converted dinette in cabin) Battery Charger: True Charge 20 amp Engine Hours (approx.): Starboard: 2000 Port 50 (rebuilt) The boat is not fully restored -- but in 2016 we fully refurbished the house, all new fiberglass, rebuilt windows, new teak panels all beautifully handled by Pacific Fiberglass in Ballard plus we rebuilt the swim platform supports.  These significant repairs greatly improve the look and longevity of the boat. If this is not the boat you've been looking for, then at $67k, you may find it too expensive.  On the other hand, if you've been wanting a beautiful boat with great lines and classic pedigree contact me to visit the boat at Elliott Bay Marina. P.S. Why are we selling? With regrets. For a number of years this Sportsman was our "waterfront" property, but we now have a home on Quartermaster Harbor and no longer need our "floating beach"!
