IKRA is living proof of the 12-Metre as the most sustainable and versatile of America’s Cup classes. She has enjoyed many lives and fame in different theatres: as a state-of-the-art racer that very nearly became - perhaps should have been - the Cup challenger against CONSTELLATION at Newport in 1964; as a successful cruiser/racer through the years when that’s what 12-Metres did – and did very well; and as one of the two yachts that started - as a gentlemen’s challenge - that most ethereal of regatta movements, La Nioulargue, now Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez. Great care has been taken in current ownership to honour IKRA’s legacy with the ability to play all her roles to the best: a removable interior and alternate rigs that allow participation as a 'Straight' Twelve in the increasingly active International Twelve Metre Class events worldwide; participation in the Classic Division at the Mediterranean’s vibrant CIM classic regattas; and a custom, cut down cruising rig for true short-handed family cruising. It’s said of many large classics that they can be short-handed, but IKRA really can, and is. IKRA is particularly well placed to participate in some major up coming Mediterranean 12-Metre/ America's Cup events, including the 2023 European Championship, pencilled-in for Cannes in September, the 2024 World Championship in the south of France, and the America's Cup 12-Metre Regatta at Barcelona in October 2024. She is also classed in France as 'Bateau d’intérêt patrimonial'. We usually hesitate to use the word iconic, but IKRA truly is.

Ce 8MJI , construit 1947 sur plan François Camatte au chantier Chiesa à Cannes, remporte les Régates Royales de Cannes en 1949. Entièrement rénové (vernis, électricité, accastillage, moteur...) et remis à l’eau en 2015 par son cinquième propriétaire, SILK est prêt à vous accompagner pour de superbes navigations et participer si vous êtes régatier au championnat de 8M JI très actif sur la façade Atlantique qui en rassemble près d'une dizaine.
