Boat has been in a covered slip at Anchor cove marina for about ten years. The slip is available with purchase of boat. DON/T BE AFRAID OF THIS BOAT THE HAUL IS SOLID The Polar Bear is a 42’ Grand Banks, a carvel planked wood, twin diesel, tri-cabin. The boat was designed by Ken Smith and series built by American Marine, Ltd. Ion wood and later in fiberglass The hull has a bluff bow, fairly plumb stem, rounded forefoot, long straight keel, and broad transom stern. The hull sections have moderate deadrise and hard chines. The hull is extended aft with a teak swimstep, and forward by a short teak platform with anchor roller. The topsides are flared forward and plumb aft. This is a classic and retains teak decks, varnished teak oval railings and trim. The deck is 7/8” x 2” teak strips sprung to the sheer over plywood and is wide enough for good access fore and aft. The deck is on one level and surrounds a raised house with trunk cabins fore and aft. A short foredeck has anchor, bow roller, windlass, seawater hose bib and room to work. An emergency escape hatch is on the forward cabin top. A companionway hatch is aft on the aft cabin Doors are located on both sides of the house. A flying bridge is above the house. The flying bridge has back-to-back seats on both sides and helm forward of the starboard seat. Aft on the centerline of the house top steps a painted wood mast and boom, carrying lights and antennas. The mast is hinged to allow the boat to access covered moorage. A boat deck is above the aft cabin. The shoreboat sits in chocks on the starboard side of the boat deck and is launched and retrieved by a custom stainless-steel davit. Forward to port on the boat deck is a railing and steps up to the flying bridge. Three hatches in the aft deck access the lazaret. The lazaret has steering, water tanks, pumps, spare anchor, and storage. A 12V warping winch is mounted aft of the hatches on the centerline on the aft deck with a closed chock through the bulwarks.
