Designed by Stan Huntingford and built by Solar Marine/Passport Yachts, Cat's Paw is a beautifully conceived cruising vessel well suited for extended coastal or long distance blue water cruising. Her interior is magnificently constructed with generous use of solid teak and shows incredible workmanship throughout. Her interior living spaces feel much larger than her 42 feet while maintaining good storage spaces above and below decks. Two private staterooms with an additional quarterberth and dinette will sleep a family. On deck, her comfortable cockpit is well protected from the elements. A solid stainless handrail runs forward from the stern to the boarding gates midships. As with her interior, her teak decks show lots of life left in them. Her cabin top had all the hardware removed in 2020 and was professionally painted with LPU. Wide side decks and inboard shroud placement allow easy passage fore and aft. Please read through the list of upgrades and systems work that has been done on Cat's Paw and come over to Bainbridge Island for a look.
Cat's Paw may have the best interior layout available in any 42 foot live-aboard ocean cruising sailboat. Her interior is finished in gorgeous Burmese tongue and groove teak throughout with solid beveled teak cabin doors with caning, teak and holly sole, heavy teak grab rails at the cabin sides under ports and solid teak companionway ladder with non-skid. Cabin sides are white laminate and her headliner (renewed in 2020) is wood staving in white fabric with teak battens. Opening ports (new 20??, hatches and dorade vents provide good ventilation, and fans throughout her interior provide additional air movement in hot weather. Storage is also abundant with lockers and cabinets throughout – many with caned fronts which provide essential storage ventilation. Her arrangement will sleep a family in two private cabins, salon and quarter-berth.

There is generous storage above, behind, and below the settee and dinette seats. At the starboard side of the galley counter there are two large cabinets with caned doors. Light and ventilation is provided by a fixed portlight and hatches with teak trim .
The master stateroom with is built to to allow a separate cabin close to the companionway. There is floor space to allow standing in the cabin and still closing the door. Large lockers and cabinets abound. Below the aft end of the berth are drawers and just aft and to starboard is a large cabinet. There is a fan above the berth. A bronze opening port provide ventilation within the cabin.
The head is located on the port side forward of the salon adjacent to the forward stateroom. Outboard is a white Formica vanity with double vanity cabinets behind mirrored sliding doors above a sink. A single drawer and cabinet are located below the counter. A Raritan manual head is located aft facing forward. There is a large mirror on the aft bulkhead and a series of shelves on the bulkhead inboard. Forward is a large separate shower stall with bathtub! Within the shower a fiberglass seat is located outboard and a hatch and a bronze opening port provide ventilation. There is an electric exhaust fan that comes on automatically when the light is turned on, very cool.
