This Sabre 42 Centerboard has recently returned from a 2 year Caribbean Cruise. We found St. Somewhere a few years back for her owners and they have cruised her down the east coast to Florida and then on to their Caribbean Adventure. She's a shoal draft centerboard model and she's got an almost new diesel engine, solar panels, and loads of great gear.
This Sabre 42 carried two sailors in style from Florida to the Eastern Caribbean and back on a recent two-year cruise. Her shallow draft (board up), allowed for sailing in skinny waters on the banks of the Bahamas. Her ability to point well, (board down) allowed steady progress to windward in the Trade Winds. She's rigged for easy single-handed sailing.
All control lines are led aft to the cockpit and her DUAL reliable direct-drive autopilots steer true. In heavy seas, her fine entry alleviates pounding and makes for a comfortable, seakindly motion and safe ride.

As you step aboard this fine vessel you’ll notice the wide side decks. The cockpit is "T" shaped and very spacious for multiple guests. Once you enter the companionway the galley is to port and the navigation area to starboard. Enclosed head and separate shower area are aft of Nav. Station on starboard.
The main salon is well ventilated, very spacious and has excellent storage throughout. The salon has two berths; port and starboard, and the port berth converts to a double.
The large folding teak salon table is stowed on the main bulkhead and opens to reach both port and starboard settees. Forward of the main bulkhead is the forward stateroom with V-berth cabin and storage locker to port and hanging locker to starboard.
The second original head to port has been removed (can be reinstalled) and has been used as a workbench room giving more storage and work space than on a standard Sabre 42 model.
Engine access is under the gally sink cabinetry on centerline with excellent access from multiple angles.
The aft stateroom has a double berth that sleeps two, with generous storage and seating.
Opening overhead hatches and opening ports give the vessel excellent ventilation. Two stainless steel dorades give additional ventilation when the boat is closed up.
Sabre signature basketweave cabinet facings provide ventilation, and Sabre dovetail joinery in all drawers including the Sabre Tool Drawer at the aft facing Nav table.

Hull and Deck
All Sabre sailboats are built "two piece". Hull and deck with stringers and ribs glassed into the hull. No interior liner. This makes for a lighter, stronger hull with superior access to systems (water, electric) etc. Hull to deck joint is overlapping and is mechanically and chemically fastened with full length wood teak toe rail through bolted.
