Holman & Pye designed Oyster 61 with a graceful shearline, elegant overhangs and a low freeboard creating an attractive, long legged centre cockpit cruising yacht. "Modus Vivendi" is number 10 of 14 examples built and was completed by Landamores of Wroxham for Oyster Marine.
Below decks she is fitted in rich Cherry woodwork, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. She offers accommodation for 6 with two large double en suite cabins, bunk cabin plus the spacious sociable saloon, well equipped galley and even a workshop forward.
With un-cluttered decks and a deep centre cockpit she is equipped for easy handling with an all furling cutter rig, electric winches and hydraulic sail controls.
Systems include a 210hp diesel engine, bow thruster, generator, air conditioning, water maker etc.
White GRP hull, single skin with structural stringers and floors to Lloyds approved design specification with integrated stern bathing platform. High Performance Bulb (HPB) lead fin keel. Skeg hung rudder with Whitlock cable steering system with a White GRP deck with balsa core, superstructure and draining centre cockpit.

Hull and deck structure are moulded in a Lloyds approved facility. Teak laid side decks, coachroof, cockpit seats and cockpit sole.
Six berths in three cabins. Two double cabins, and one twin. Interior joinery finished in cherry. joinery features include sculpted fiddles and grabrails, shadow gap joints and solid shaped cherry and stainless steel grabhandles. cabin sole of teak and holly stripe. The yacht has been in the current ownership since 2009. The owner’s intention was to sail the oceans, however, plans changed and she has been UK based since 2009 with very little use, mainly occasional days sails. As a result of this many of the yachts systems have not been used by the owner and require testing/servicing/upgrading – hence the asking price.
"Modus Vivendi" is a substantial yacht and after servicing/upgrading would easily be capable of long-distance cruising.
