Beschreibung

OFFERED FOR SALE, the lovely SHANTI, 2008 Lagoon 440, 3-cabin Owner’s version with flybridge.   Meticulously maintained and cared for. Privately Owned - Never Chartered.  We are only the second owner of this beautiful yacht and she has been lovingly maintained and upgraded as we have enjoyed nearly 5-years of sailing and exploring the Caribbean.  US Flagged, tons of upgrades; fully off the grid with large array of solar and battery storage. Elegant and functional, this Lagoon 440 is a rare find and is truly turn key, fully loaded for comfortably living aboard & serious blue water cruising.

Outside, the hulls and deck shine like new on Shanti, as does her outdoor stainless steel; her teak brightwork is like new, toe rails and new teak foldable table have been preserved with poly two part finish, beautiful cockpit teak flooring is kept new with teak oil; nearly 1,200 Watts of solar and 1,320 amp hours of house battery storage means that we’re fully off the grid (and what a great feeling); all instruments newly upgraded in 2018, including blue water items such as AIS transponder; all sails are in great condition with additional light wind sail stowed (sprit at bow and aft blocks for easy deployment); lines are in good order and we have new backup lines at the ready; running rigging was replaced in 2011, upper diamonds were replaced again this year, 2021, rigging inspected and adjusted yearly; sailbag and forward sunbrella define the boat with a very nice “captains” color (replaced in 2018/2019); bluewater nets are like new, replaced in 2019; cockpit is like new including cockpit countertop and sink (for quick clean up of fish, boat items or dirty hands) as well as a nice drink fridge (installed in 2018); full cockpit enclosure both in plaxi and screen keeps the rain or sun out with panels that allow choice of sections to enclose; thru hulls inspected and replaced yearly as needed; bottom painted yearly; dinghy 25hp outboard rebuilt in 2018 and 9.8hp backup outboard in new condition only used twice, 12’ dinghy in great shape with matching captions color chaps installed in 2019; large 11.5kw generator maintained in good order with plenty of power to run all a/c, we’ve installed a timer to turn on and off the generator at desired times, allowing the a/c to cool the boat down in intervals on hotter nights; large 54hp Yanmar engines well maintained with low hours; new 2021 anchor chain, Rocna 73kg anchor and 1500wt windlass insure confident holding in the worst of anchorages; power and manual winches are serviced and in very nice condition; large water storage of 240gal, as well as large fuel storage of 171gal is above ample (we fill our fuel tanks about 3 times per year); nice sized Magma outdoor BBQ is great for grilling freshly caught fish or other food; all outdoor and indoor lighting is LED with 10yr bulbs (keeps the boat cool and using a fraction of electricity).

The 440 continues to be a much sought after vessel with a reputation for solid performance spacious layout, and tremendous cruising comfort.  The raised central helm station (Flydeck) gives 360 degree visibility and all the control lines are within easy reach.  A single-hand can easily maneuver the Lagoon 440, and we often operate single-handed; there is tremendous visibility when docking and mooring.  The large bench seat at the helm station rapidly becomes the favorite spot to take part and enjoy the sail.  The hull design is powerful and seaworthy, the gull-wing shaped bridge deck allows smoother passage through the waves, the high ratio sail plan and fine hull appendices make the Lagoon 440 a fast seaworthy, comfortable and elegant catamaran.  Naval architects Marc Van Peteghem and Vincent Lauriot Prevost designed the Lagoon 440 to be both aesthetic and functional; the coachroof lines are long and elegant, the forms are dynamic, spaces are cleverly used, ergonomics are optimal.

Galley Equipment

The large L-shaped galley faces the cockpit and it has been designed to keep the chef engaged with visitors while cooking. The ENO stove and oven are in very good condition and we enjoy our microwave for quick prep and popcorn.

Shanti’s woodwork and flooring is in great condition as is her shiny stainless kitchen countertop and bathroom resin countertops; we have replaced her sink faucets with beautiful and functional stainless steel upgrades; the two salon upright fridges were replaced in 2018 with upgraded stainless door versions.
