Sabre Yachts has built some of the most well-appointed performance cruisers, and the 426 is one of its best. Superb joinery, quality sailing gear and Jim Taylor’s solid design set the Sabre 426 apart from many of today’s production boats. The interior design creates a straightforward, comfortable two-couple cruising layout while the moderate proportions and ample sail area provide good performance even in light winds. Taylor has designed several cruiser-racers and all-out racers in this size range and it shows in the 426’s sailing performance.
Amagansett came to the West Coast in 2016 from her home in Maine where she spent the winters in a heated indoor facility. Well outfitted originally, Amagansett has been pampered here in the Pacific Northwest and lavished with new equipment and upgrades, including new North Sails, new canvas (including dodger) and a bow thruster. Her flag blue topsides and beautifully crafted solid woodwork convey Amagansett’s high-quality feel.
•New North Sails
•New Brooks and Gatehouse Instruments and Chartplotter
•New Bow Thruster
•Electric Halyard Winch
•675 Engine Hours
The interior of the Sabre 426 is hand crafted of the finest American cherry with a teak and holly sole. Satin varnish gives the wood a delicate sheen, which accents the highly detailed joinery work featuring Sabre's signature cold-molded curved laminated trim not found in other yachts. The generous headroom measures 6'6" in the main salon and aft areas, and 6'4" in the forward cabin. Drawers are maple dove tailed construction with smooth sliding roller guides. Locker doors have fully louvered fronts, recessed self-closing hinges, and positive sealing push-button latches. The elegant and extensive lighting is by Cantalupi.
Nowhere is the study of old and new elements more evident than in the main salon. The bulkhead-mounted table is a great solution for the challenge of providing an open, airy feel while still allowing a large dining table at mealtimes. For entertaining, or for simply relaxing at the end of an exhilarating day on the water, the two L-shaped settees offer ample seating. Fold down the table for comfortable seating for six. The portside settee converts to a double berth.
Storage is plentiful both above and outboard of the settees. Woodworking details found aboard the 426 are sure to please the most discriminating buyer.
The U-shaped galley is very functional and conveniently located to starboard at the base of the companionway. Large DC-refrigerated iceboxes are found aft where the most volume is available in the hull shape, and a front opening door provides convenient access to the items in the bottom of the refrigerator.
Stainless steel sinks are situated on the forward arm of the galley, close to the yacht's centerline. A convenient in-counter dish drainer/locker is located outboard and three large lockers are provided for dry goods. Many drawers are available for utensils and cookware.
The owners can choose between the forward and aft staterooms. Both are spacious and comfortable with ample storage. The forward cabin is well ventilated with opening ports and an opening hatch. The vee berth is enhanced with step-up access. The aft cabin is also roomy and airy. A clever overhead hatch (concealed under and protected by the cockpit locker lid) offers excellent ventilation as well as connecting the cockpit crew to those below. Many drawers and lockers are provided for stowage of personal effects.
Amagansett’s head compartment, with ceramic tiled floor and spacious separate shower stall is well equipped, functional, and easy to clean. Hose runs from the WC to the holding tank are as short as possible so as to minimize head odors. The Jabsco Quiet Flush fresh water head, and Tank Watch 4 monitor complete the system.
The custom chart table arrangement is set up for a variety of electronics. The inboard end of the chart table hinges open for chart and accessory storage, while a large panel for flush-mounting of additional electronics is provided in clear view of the navigator. The fully equipped custom Sabre tool drawer highlights the storage in this area.

Manufacturer Provided Description
The Sabre 426 embraces the standards which have put Sabre's name atop the quality spectrum of boatbuilding for the last 30 years. Current Sabre owners and those who have followed the brand over time, will see details here which make it feel familiar. Details which make sense, which add to comfort, security and well being. Logical details that, above all, make each Sabre design a great safe and beautiful sailboat. But details from the past are just part of the story. Keeping up with technology has to go hand in hand with our desire to build the finest possible sailing yachts for our clients. The Sabre 426 hull and deck will be built using vacuum bagged, closed cell, cross linked PVC foam and structural E Glass, which will give her one of the strongest, lightest, most durable structures available today. Hull lines, underwater appendages and rigs were drawn by Jim Taylor Yacht Design. The deck, deck styling and interior were accomplished by the Sabre Design Team. The result is a yacht which will, like her siblings, establish a benchmark in sailing that will endure for many years to come.
